Our company

American House is a full service real estate development and consulting company based in Budapest, Hungary with a branch office in Donja Stubica (Zagreb, Croatia).

Between 1994 and 2006 American House developed over EUR 20 million worth of residential, commercial and office projects in Hungary alone.

In addition to our own projects, American House advised a number of private investors in the acquisition, planning, construction, refurbishment, and management of real estate across all market segments. 

Mission statement

American House is dedicated to playing a constructive role in the reconstruction of east-central Europe through the development of projects that are highly profitable yet environmentally sustainable and respectful of local architectural heritage.  We provide turn-key development solutions to investors sharing our developmental philosophy and commitment to excellence.  We do so by organizing teams of realtors, surveyors, planners, builders, and sales/letting agents optimally serving our clients’ needs, with our own in-house experts serving as team leaders, coordinators, and facilitators. 

American House

American House is the Hungarian affiliate of the Manor Group (www.themanorgroup.com), a US-based real estate development and management company.  Our main offices are based in Budapest, Hungary.  We maintain branch offices in Donja Stubica, Croatia where we are primarily involved in ground acquisition and development.

We offer our clients a varety of services custom tailored to their particular needs, be it ground acquisition and development, the acquisition, refurbishment, and retenanting of existing buildings, or green field projects.  We do so by making sure we have a clear understanding of the client’s needs and formulating and implementing investment strategies most likely to achieve their investment objectives. 

Key people
Richard Field (43) is the co-owner of American House. He graduated from Columbia University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He founded the company in 1990.   His current responsibilities include investor relations, strategic planning, and overseeing all aspects of project development and management.

Gabor Skulteti (41) is the managing director of the American House group of companies. He graduated from the University of Economics, Budapest in 1993, in financials. Joining American House in 1998 as chief accountant he was promoted to his current position in 2000.

Andras Balazs (34) is head of project planning and technical oversight.  He has a degree in civil engineering and architecture from the Technical University of Budapest where he graduated in 2001.
Gabor Makray (36) is the director of sales and marketing.
Peter Szecsenyi (42) has a degree in law from the University of Miskolc.  He has acted as in-house legal council since 1999.
